Compatibility: which system does it fit?
- Voltage: DC systems up to 1000V DC. The maximum open-circuit voltage (Voc) of your panel string should stay below 1000V.
- Current: up to 125A. Choose a rating about 125% of your normal circuit current, and never above your cable's rating.
- Best for: high-current DC circuits such as battery-to-inverter connections in 12V / 24V / 48V systems, and DCDB boxes.
- 1 Pole: switches off one DC line. For both lines together, use two breakers or a 2 Pole breaker.
- Mounting: standard DIN rail.
Solar installer guide: which protection to choose?
| Where in your system | What to use |
|---|---|
| Each panel string, before the combiner box or DCDB | DROSS ZYPV-32X fuse holder (1000V DC, 32A) with a 10×38mm PV fuse link |
| Switching off or isolating a DC circuit (string, DCDB, inverter input) | DROSS DC MCB 63A, 1 Pole or 2 Pole (600V DC) |
| Battery to inverter circuit (higher current) | DROSS DC MCB 125A, 1 Pole (1000V DC) |
| Surge and lightning protection at the DCDB or inverter DC input | DROSS DC SPD-40 (Type 2, 600V DC) |
Simple rules: keep your system's maximum DC voltage below the device's voltage rating. Choose the DC MCB current rating about 125% of the normal circuit current (not above your cable's rating), and choose string fuses as per your panel datasheet. Not sure?
